Request #18-611

Dear Ms. Hagler:

Under California Public Records Act § 6250 et seq., please email me records or other information showing how much money the CPUC spent on the work by Geoscience and its president, Dennis Williams, and by Environmental Science Associates and its principal, Eric Zigas, on the EIR for the Monterey Peninsula Water Supply Project by California American Water (A.12-04-019).  Please also let me know if the CPUC has been reimbursed for these expenses by California-American Water Company or if reimbursement depends on whether California-American Water can recover the reimbursement money from ratepayers if and when the project is useful and in use.  Since in November Measure J passed here on the Monterey Peninsula requiring the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District to begin the process of purchasing the local existing assets of California-American Water, which do not include the proposed project sited outside the district’s jurisdiction, the CPUC and the State of California could be stuck with these costs.  Please provide me the requested information within a few days, if possible.  Thank you.  And thank you for all the help  you have provided me in the past.  –Ron Weitzman, president, Water Ratepayers Association of the Monterey Peninsula
